Children's Ministry

Every Sunday the children are divided by grades into "Sunday School" classes.  From toddler through 8th grade each student receives individual and group instruction in Biblical stories.  Because of their love and dedication for the Lord Jesus Christ, volunteers are the teachers in this ministry and offer personal time and resources in the effort to train children in the ways of the Lord.  Your children will enjoy the fun, food, and fellowship in their class!

Girls Club

Volunteers lead the young ladies from 4th to 8th grade of the Mission Church in a bi-monthly gathering on Sunday afternoons.  Activities that include crafts making, singing, eating, and Bible Studies are designed to lead them into a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  The friendship and fellowship that is enjoyed by this group will warm your heart when you experience it!

Boys Club

Volunteers lead the boys from 4th to 8th grade in "guy stuff."  Together they rock climb, go bowling, and learn Biblical principles for living as young men.

Worship Team

The lead worshipers comprise the Worship Team at Mission Church.  A blend of contemporary Christian music and the old hymns set to keyboards, drums and guitars.  The flute, clarinet, saxophone, and djembe are a regular part of the praise and worship.  We believe that it is the responsibility of the believer and an act of obedience to God Almighty when we praise and worship Him.   Please join us in worshipping Him!

Laundry Room Ministry

The Laundry Room Ministry is an extension of our benevolent hand in the community.  We are able to supply free clothing – coats, shirts, pants, diapers, toiletries, etc.-- to those in immediate need. The Laundry Room is re-supplied by the generous acts of individuals in the tri-state area.  Because of our inner-city location, Mission Church regularly has "drop in" homeless and transient people with immediate needs for food and clothing items.

Food Ministry

The Mission Church food program includes a breakfast served every Sunday morning 8:30 - 9:20 which is representative of the Christ-centered care extended into the inner-city community.  The free breakfast is prepared and donated by volunteers representing several local congregations and parishes.  Anyone is welcome to come before the 9:30 AM Worship Service and eat a meal with us.  Because of our inner-city location, Mission Church regularly has "drop in" homeless and transient people.

Bicycle Ministry

As part of our bicycle ministry, participants can earn-a-bike through participation in our volunteer projects. Over the past two years more than 250 people have completed the earn-a-bike program by volunteering in the community or assisting with bicycle repairs. We also offer free repair assistance at our Cass Street facility to those in need. Over 500 people have used our repair services in 2015.  A significant number of these repairs were completed by inner-city and homeless folks who have been trained to repair bicycles at our shop. In addition, we also conduct periodic repair classes for interested adults, students, and teenagers in the juvenile corrections system.  Please stop by and join the fun on Friday mornings, starting at 9:00 a.m. Please use door 3 off the north parking lot.
